About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Charleston’s vibrant King Street, Bin 152 offers an exceptional wine bar and dining experience that effortlessly marries sophistication with a warm, inviting atmosphere. This charming spot is a haven for wine lovers and food enthusiasts alike, specializing in thoughtfully curated wines paired with exquisite cheese and charcuterie plates that transform a simple outing into a memorable culinary adventure.

Embark on a sensory journey with their standout Cheese and Charcuterie Plate, a harmonious selection featuring silky Buffalo Cheese, tangy Goat Cheese, delicate Paté, and a variety of artisanal Salamis, all served alongside freshly baked bread. Each bite bursts with layers of flavor, inviting you to savor the perfect balance of textures and tastes. Complement these delights with their impressive wine list, which includes rare and elegant options like the Weingut Niklas Alto Adige Schiava 2019, the earthy G. D. Vajra Langhe Nebbiolo 2019, or the lush and full-bodied Tenuta San Giorgio “Ugolforte” Brunello di Montalcino. The white wine selection continues to impress with standout choices such as the Merlin Cherrier Sancerre and the sumptuous Château Montelena Chardonnay from Napa Valley. For those who prefer bubbly or rosé, the Louis De Grenelle "Corail" and Le Mesnil Blanc de Blanc Grand Cru Champagne provide delightful effervescence to elevate any occasion.

What truly sets Bin 152 apart is its relaxed yet distinctly stylish vibe—a space where antique touches nod to Charleston’s rich history while an upbeat energy pulses beneath. Guests often describe the atmosphere as an “oasis” and a perfect prelude to a vibrant Charleston evening. The hosts enhance this experience with engaging, knowledgeable wine recommendations that transform an ordinary night out into something extraordinary. As Tracy Mantel raved, “Just let them pick the wine for you and while you’re at it, let them pick dinner too. Amazing experience, great relaxed vibes,” capturing the essence of what makes this place so special.

Whether you’re seeking diverse, esoteric wine selections or a comforting spot to enjoy excellent cheese and charcuterie, Bin 152 strikes the perfect chord. Jonathan Newman aptly noted the rare finds “including some difficult to find wines by the glass” and the “fabulous” selection of prosciutto and cheeses that keep guests returning regularly. Interestingly, longtime Charleston residents like Robert Poh marvel at simply having discovered this gem, drawing comparisons to the legendary ambiance of Chumley’s in New York City and promising to make it a regular stop.

Bin 152’s dedication to quality, paired with its funky, fun character and roots deeply connected to the antiques that once filled this space, makes it an iconic King Street destination. As Monica Elefterion reflects, the “fabulous antiques” and vibrant energy have helped Bin 152 thrive for over 16 years, a true testament to its enduring appeal. For a memorable glass of wine or a thoughtfully crafted bite, this wine bar is more than just a stop—it’s an essential Charleston experience.

Incredibly engaging hosts! Just let them pick the wine for you- and while you’re at it, let them pick dinner too. Amazing experience, great relaxed vibes. Would make for a great stop before dinner to get your night started. We’re not from the area and this place called to us like an oasis in the Charleston head two nights in a row. 10 stars- can’t wait to find these wines again near me.

This is absolutely a perfect wine bar for me. Great atmosphere. The list is full of gems including some difficult to find wines by the glass, some esoteric options, and lots of mainstream options. The prosciutto and rosette de Lyon were fabulous and the cheeses were excellent. I would be here multiple times a week if I lived here!

For some unknown reason, after living on the Charleston Peninsula for the past seven years, we had never ventured into Bin 152; what a mistake! The service, cheeses and charcuterie selection were excellent, as well as the atmosphere, which immediately reminded us of Chumley’s (of old) in the West Village of NYC. The upbeat and friendly vibe will make an evening there a regular event in the future.

Funky and fun. Wine, cheese, charcuterie were all glorious. The fabulous antiques are from the original antique business that previously occupied this space. Happy 16th anniversary. It is no wonder that they have been so popular as a must go location on King Street.

Stopped in Bin 152 to get a glass of wine. I tried * Domaine du Collier - Saumur France - Chenin Blanc - 2020 and paired it with the Petit Basque, firm sheep’s milk cheese and bread. This Chenin Blanc was honestly the best one I’ve ever tried. Taste is smooth, low acidity, I got a hint of fall spices, honey, stone fruit, oak, butter, vanilla. You should definitely stop in for a try!

BIN 152 delivers on charm, from the cozy decor to the thoughtful service. We stopped by after dinner for a glass of wine and were immediately welcomed with great recommendations and warm energy. The wine list is extensive without being overwhelming, and the small bites (especially the chocolate) were a perfect touch. It’s an ideal spot for date night or winding down after a busy day calm, curated, and completely relaxing. Would definitely return.
